Luminance HDR - Download-Discover HDR and Tone Mapping for your photos

Luminance HDR (formerly known as Qtpfsgui) is a powerful digital photography tool that allows you get the lighting of your images just right.

Luminance HDR is used toadjust the lighting of images taken at different exposuresin order to make them consistent with each other, using HDR technology. Given three images - one over-exposed (say, -2), one normally exposed (0) and one under-exposed (+2), the application will automatically fuse the images in order to ensure the correct exposure in each picture.

This is normally a technique that would require you to be an expert in photography and all the lighting and exposure adjustments you'd have to make would be extremely tedious. Luminance HDR offers a range ofclay/tone mapping filters to help you further enrich the quality of your pictures. These include: Fattal, Ashikmin, Durand, Drago, Pattanaik, Reinhard'02 y Reinhard'04. Luminance HDR features support for a wide range of formats including OpenEXR (extension: exr); Radiance RGBE (extension: hdr) and Tiff formats.

As labor saving as Luminance HDR is, it still requires quite a lot of time to get the most out of it. There are many settings and advanced functions that most non-photography professionals won't feel comfortable with.

Overall though, Luminance HDR is a very good application for enhancing your images especially where light exposures are poor.

Inkscape

Inkscape is an open source drawing tool for creating and editing SVG graphics.  More than just a text vector editor, Inkscape provides a WYSIWYG interface for manipulation of vector images, allowing the artist to express himself freely. While other free and proprietary software with similar capabilities exists, Inkscape provides an interface to directly manipulate the underlying SVG code. This allows one to be certain that the code complies to W3C standards. Since the beginning of its development, the Inkscape project has been very active, providing stability for the current software and the capacity for future growth.
Like other drawing programs, Inkscape offers creation of basic shapes (such as ellipses, rectangles, stars, polygons, and spirals) as well as the ability to transform and manipulate these basic shapes by rotation, stretching, and skewing.
Inkscape also allows users to manipulate objects precisely by adjusting node points and curves.  Advanced artists find these functions indispensable in drawing software to freely create what they imagine.
A user can either manipulate the properties of objects individually and precisely through the XML editor or, in a more general and intuitive fashion, with input devices such as mice, pen tablets, and even touch screens.
In addition, Inkscape allows one to insert text and bitmaps (such as PNG—another W3C recommended bitmap image format) into an image, as well as perform some basic editing functions on them.  If an artist requires further bitmap editing, he may use other tools (such as the GIMP) on images before or after importing them. If one does edit a linked bitmap in another program, Inkscape will reflect these changes once the SVG file is reloaded.

All of these characteristics make Inkscape a model drawing application, especially considering its flexibility and many other capabilities. Sweet Home 3D

 

Sweet Home 3D offers users a chance to see a remodeled room or a brand new home before a single nail has been driven. With a fairly simple premise and impressive results, this slightly flawed program is certainly something to get the imagination going.
The program's interface is very easy to use. The left side of the screen contains a file tree for every room in the house, and clicking on each room presents a list of all appropriate furniture you can drag into the adjacent box. The area is a grid with measurements corresponding to room size. Below the file tree is a space for each item in the room and its approximate size. At the bottom of the screen is a small box that provides the 3D view. Designing a room is very simple. By dragging furniture into the grid and positioning it as you envision your redesigned room, a clear picture appears below, providing an impression of space that two-dimensional sketches cannot. In addition, there is an exciting Virtual Visit option that lets you walk through your home and its rooms.
While the results of Sweet Home 3D were impressive, we were slightly disappointed with its control. Placing items in the room will take some patience, as it feels rather clunky. However, with a little practice, we are certain users will be able to use this free program to design something impressive.
